Advanced treatment for foot osteoarthritis, helping reduce pain, improve movement and support everyday activity.

Osteoarthritis in the feet is a degenerative joint condition that occurs when the protective cartilage cushioning the joints gradually wears down over time. As the cartilage deteriorates, the bones within the joint begin to rub against each other, leading to pain, stiffness, swelling and reduced mobility. This can make everyday activities such as walking, standing for long periods or wearing certain footwear increasingly uncomfortable.

Osteoarthritis can affect different areas of the foot, including the forefoot, midfoot and hindfoot. The forefoot includes the toes and the joints at the base of the toes, which are commonly affected and may cause pain during push-off when walking. The midfoot contains several small joints that provide stability and support the arch, while the hindfoot, including the heel and ankle region, plays an important role in balance and weight distribution. When arthritis develops in these areas, it can significantly impact overall foot function and quality of life.

What are the Symptoms of Arthritis in the Feet?

Symptoms of arthritis in the feet can vary depending on the severity of the condition and which joints are affected. In many cases, symptoms develop gradually over time as the joint cartilage wears down and inflammation increases. Common symptoms include:

  • Pain during walking or standing
  • Stiffness, especially in the morning or after rest
  • Swelling around the joints
  • Reduced range of motion
  • A grinding or clicking sensation
  • Changes in foot shape or alignment
  • Difficulty wearing certain shoes
