What Are the Symptoms of Tennis/Golfers Elbow?

Symptoms of these conditions can vary but commonly include:

  • Pain or tenderness on the outside (tennis elbow) or inside (golfer’s elbow) of the elbow
  • Discomfort with gripping or lifting objects.
  • Weakness in the forearm or wrist
  • Pain that worsens with repetitive arm movements
  • Stiffness or aching near the elbow joint.
  • Difficulty performing everyday tasks, such as opening jars or using tools.

Symptoms often develop gradually and may be aggravated by activities that strain the forearm muscles and tendons.

What Treatments Are Available for Tennis/Golfers Elbow?

Treatment for tennis and golfer’s elbow depends on the severity of symptoms and how much they impact your daily life. At The Coriel Clinic, we provide personalised, consultant-led care with both non-surgical and advanced options when appropriate.

Non-Surgical Treatments

Many patients benefit from conservative treatment, which may include:

  • Activity modification to reduce strain on the affected tendons.
  • Targeted physiotherapy to improve strength, flexibility and mechanics.
  • Ergonomic and movement advice to prevent recurrence.
  • Anti-inflammatory measures to reduce pain and irritation.
  • Supportive braces or straps to off-load the tendon during activity.
  • Corticosteroid or image-guided injections for targeted pain relief

These approaches aim to relieve symptoms, promote healing and restore confidence in arm function.

Advanced or Specialist Treatments

In cases where symptoms persist despite conservative care, your consultant may recommend further investigation or specialist interventions to support recovery. Your consultant will explain all appropriate options, expected benefits and recovery guidance, so you can make an informed decision about your care.

At The Coriel Clinic, our goal is to help you achieve lasting pain relief, improved function and a safe return to activity with expert support throughout your treatment journey.
