Osteotomy & Plantar Cyst Removal

One of our patients recently attended The Coriel Clinic for treatment to correct a bunion deformity and remove a painful plantar cyst.

The procedure involved a small bone osteotomy with fixation and excision of the cyst, carried out under local anaesthetic.

Prior to treatment, the patient had a big toe that was leaning inward with a noticeable bump at the side of the foot, alongside a cyst causing discomfort when walking. The aim of the procedure was to straighten the toe, remove the bony prominence and excise the cyst to improve comfort and foot alignment.

The procedure itself was minimally invasive and performed under local anaesthetic, allowing the patient to remain comfortable throughout.

After the surgery, the patient shared their experience:

“I wasn’t expecting it to be so comfortable. There was absolutely no pain at all. I did feel a little bit of vibration at first because I’d never had a procedure under local anaesthetic before, but it was very quick and straightforward.”

The patient was able to walk immediately after the procedure with a protective bandage, with a full recovery expected in around six weeks.

They also commented on the environment and care provided at The Coriel Clinic:

“The facility is very clean, calm and professional. Everyone looked after me really well and were very caring. I would definitely recommend it.”

This case highlights how modern foot surgery techniques and local anaesthetic procedures can provide effective correction with minimal discomfort and a straightforward recovery process.
