Mr Andrew Bruce

Hip & Knee Specialist

Mr Andrew Bruce TD MBChB FRCS (Eng) FRCS (Tr&Orth) is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery, including complex hip replacement and revision procedures. He graduated from the University of Sheffield in 1993 and completed his basic surgical training in South Yorkshire before undertaking specialist orthopaedic training in Durham, Whitehaven and on the South Trent Rotation based in Leicester.

Mr Bruce further developed his expertise through fellowship training in Coventry, where he gained advanced experience in complex primary hip replacement surgery and all aspects of revision hip surgery. He was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon in Doncaster in 2006 and has since built extensive experience in managing a wide range of hip and knee conditions.

In addition to joint replacement surgery, Mr Bruce has a particular interest in the assessment and treatment of Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome (GTPS) and trochanteric bursitis, helping patients find effective relief from persistent hip pain.

Alongside his clinical work, Mr Bruce has served for over 30 years in the reserve forces, reaching the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and completing two tours of Afghanistan at Camp Bastion Field Hospital as an honorary Defence Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon.
