Mr Madhavan Papanna MBBS Diploma in Orthopaedics SICOT Fellow(Ortho) MRCS Ed FRCS Ed (Tr & Orth) is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in shoulder and elbow surgery.

He completed his General Surgical training in Manchester and his Higher Surgical Training in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery on the Sheffield rotation. Following this, he was appointed to the internationally acclaimed Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship Programme at the Derby Shoulder and Elbow Unit, where he gained extensive experience managing a high volume of complex shoulder and elbow conditions.

After completing his fellowship, Mr Papanna further enhanced his expertise by visiting leading shoulder and elbow centres of excellence in France, learning advanced surgical techniques from world-renowned surgeons. He is committed to delivering first-class outcomes through a caring, personalised approach, using proven techniques and modern prostheses in a timely and patient-focused manner.

Mr Papanna is actively involved in research, with multiple peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international conferences. He also plays a significant role in education and training, supporting surgeons, junior doctors and medical students, and serves as a faculty member on regional and national postgraduate orthopaedic courses.

He sees patients at The Coriel Clinic, Thornbury Hospital and Park Hill Hospital.
