Upper Limb Specialist

Mr Richard Stevens MBChB BMedSci FRCS (Orth) is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in upper limb conditions. He graduated from the University of Sheffield Medical School in 2009, having taken a year out during his studies to pursue a strong interest in sports medicine. During this time, he conducted research with the British Cycling team and was awarded a BMedSci degree.

Following graduation, Mr Stevens remained in South Yorkshire, completing his higher surgical training before undertaking two specialist upper limb fellowships in Chesterfield and Derby. He was appointed as a Consultant at Doncaster & Bassetlaw NHS Foundation Trust in 2023, where he serves as Clinical Lead for Trauma, supervises trainees and regularly teaches medical students.

Actively involved in research, Mr Stevens has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals, has presented at national and international conferences, and continues to contribute to education as a faculty member on several national training courses. He sees patients at The Coriel Clinic, Thornbury Hospital and Park Hill Hospital.
